Piano and specialist removals

Pianos, safes, pool tables, gym equipment and anything else that needs four people and the right gear rather than optimism.

Four movers guiding an upright piano on a skate through a front doorway with floor and door protection

Why these jobs are quoted separately

A grand piano is not a heavy sofa. It has a fixed centre of gravity, a fragile action, legs that must come off in a set order, and a value that often exceeds the van carrying it. We survey every specialist item in person, and if we do not think we are the right firm for it we will tell you and suggest someone who is.

Stairs, thresholds and floors

The risk on a specialist move is rarely the item, it is the building. Victorian staircases in Earlsdon were not built for a 300kg safe, and a new-build's floating floor will mark under a piano dolly. We use load spreading boards and stair climbers, and where a staircase genuinely will not take the weight we will say so before the day rather than on it.

Insurance for high-value items

Standard goods in transit cover has a per-item limit. If your piano, artwork or antique is worth more than that limit, tell us the value at survey and we will arrange specific cover for the move. It is a small cost against the alternative.

FAQ

Common questions

How much is a piano move in Coventry?

It depends on the piano, the staircase and the access at both ends, which is why we always survey a specialist item before quoting rather than pricing it blind. Tell us what you have and we will arrange a look.

Can you move a safe upstairs?

Sometimes. It depends on the weight, the staircase construction and the floor it is going onto. We survey first and will tell you honestly if it cannot be done safely.

Do you tune pianos after the move?

No, but a piano should be tuned a few weeks after any move once it has settled. We can recommend a local tuner.

Ready to get a written quote?

Tell us where you are moving from and to. We will come back with a fixed price in writing, usually the same day.
